About Us
Jeff C. Brodscholl, Ph.D. Founder
I am the founder of Greymatter Behavioral Sciences. I am an experimental social psychologist by training who, for the past 10 years, has held VP-level senior behavioral scientist roles in global insights and communications agencies, with a primary focus in healthcare. In these roles, I have:
- Functioned as a client-facing subject-matter expert to cross-functional teams, helping them develop and deliver behavioral science-based insights, strategic recommendations, and intervention tactics for consumer, patient, and healthcare provider communications, support programs, and behavior change efforts
- Created new behavioral science-based service offerings for primary customer research and behavioral analysis, and played a key role in their marketing and internal dissemination
- Led multidisciplinary R&D initiatives involving the development and validation of methods for applying real-time behavioral insights in digital products
- Established and run a behavioral science center of excellence to develop and disseminate behavioral science knowledge, methods, and best practices among organizational staff
- Provided thought leadership about behavioral science applications and insights through industry publications and events
The tradition I was forged in sits at the intersection of a number of popular behavioral science trends. It’s one that talks about biases, heuristics, and implicit cognition, but, more broadly, emphasizes the scientific method, supports a holistic understanding of human behavior, and seeks deep insight into behavioral processes, rather than simply describing people's traits or cataloging behavioral phenomena. It’s a tradition that works extremely well in domains where the drivers of behavior are often complex, the opportunities to intervene are limited, and insights and actions must be based on a comprehensive understanding of people if they are to succeed. It’s that philosophy, and the custom work required to put it to use, that I now look to bring to clients seeking robust applications of behavioral science for insight and behavior change.
